The Pilgrim Chapel Trustees are proceeding with plans to construct a public meditation garden on the Chapel grounds.

This addition will provide a place for individual prayer, contemplation and small group celebrations.

Leadership for this project will be provided by the Pilgrim Chapel Garden Committee.  Initial members include the following:

Bob Berkebile
Judy Madden Bradley
Liz Coleman
Roger Coleman
Hilary Kemper

The Garden Committee has completed an extensive search for the appropriate architectural firm to design the Garden and has selected Young & Dring to complete the initial design.

We look forward to keeping you informed of the Garden's progress on this website.

Goals for The Chapel Garden

Create a sacred space for meditation/reflection supportive of the chapel's purpose as a facility open to people of all faiths.

Provide a location for small outdoor gatherings including memorial services, weddings, etc.

Enhance the beauty of the chapel and parsonage grounds.

Provide a memorial garden where those who have died can be honored.

Consider a special area of the garden, perhaps a fountain, to recognize Kansas Citians who have died of AIDS.

Establish Pilgrim Chapel as a significant regional religious site for visitation/tours/pilgrimages, etc.
