Pilgrim Center, Inc. Board of Directors

 

Pilgrim Chapel, UpLifting Westport Youth Services and the Laurus W. Magill, Sr. Garden of Silence are all under the sponsorship of one not-for-profit organization – Pilgrim Center, Inc. 

A 12-member Board of Directors, made up of community leaders and other Hyde Park residents, governs Pilgrim Center, Inc.  In addition to overseeing the garden development and the youth services, the Pilgrim Center Board is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving the chapel, parsonage and grounds. Specific chapel responsibilities include the following: 

        Developing and funding the chapel’s annual operating budget.

       Promoting awareness and use of chapel facilities.

        Overseeing restoration and improvements to the chapel.

        Determining policies and procedures for chapel use.

       Managing contributions including memorial gifts and endowment funds.

       Maintaining an active Board and supporting volunteer involvement.

Pilgrim Center Staff

 

The Pilgrim Center director is Roger Coleman. His wife, Elizabeth Coleman, assists him. Both are ordained Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) ministers.
